Really well done vid, hon! Perfect marriage of pensive mood in the way the singer rendered the song and Buffy's facial expressions. It seemed on the show that she WAS maturing, thinking, as this illustrates. I like that better than the regression we get in the comics!
Excellent! THIS Buffy could love, well and wisely! Kathleen
God damn it woman, you made sympathise with Buffy! and made me cry - again. This is truly beautiful. Cutting Spike from the scenes you selected until the precised moment you wanted him to appear, and then the syncroninsation of to say I love you with Buffy's words to him. I howled at that point.
I'm going to watch it again, with a box of tissues handy this time.
the only really real Buffy is really Buffy and she's gone
WORD!! WTF was Joss thinking? Was he not aware that the biggest complaint regarding S7 by the majority of fandom was: too many potentials (that hardly anyone cared about, other than Joss, I guess) taking up screen time that could have focused on the growth and development of the core characters post-S6? That, and Pod!Giles. *sigh*
Yeah! Once Buffy was no longer The Slayer, her story was over. The TV plans that faioled to materialise were to continue the Jossverse, rather than the Buffyverse.
And yet, a continuation of the Jossverse could have been done well, i.e. ST:TNG, in which new characters were introduced, but they were interesting characters, and you at least knew their names! The first mistake was shoving all of those nameless, boring girls into S7. Why not use S7 to conclude the stories of the real characters, then have Buffy & Willow do the spell and only show the Slayers 2.0 then? Certain new slayers could be developed and built upon if that's the direction he was planning to go.
The main problem for me with the comics (other than not understanding them until stormwreath spells out what's going on, and not being able to recognize anyone from panel to panel), is that I am paralyzed with not caring about the characters or the story being told. *sigh*
Yup, not only did you do a video but you did a damn fine video. Great look at how Buffy goes from innocent teen to a woman and how the men in her life impacted that journey.
You're back! And with prezzies! I love your reflective/pensive Buffy here. And you've edited the clips perfectly to the song. It's sure not original, soprano Joni Mitchell, but it's also not Judy Collins, which is the version I was most familiar with back in the day. It could be current,no-longer-soprano-after-40-years-of-heavy-smoking Joni Mitchell. I know she's done several albums fairly recently (within the past ten years, anyway).
Impresssive video and really uses the music and the picture mix to tell the story of Buffy as she matures. I've always loved the Judy Collins version but this is very nice. Comics don't have these actors-'nuf said.
Great video, SL--it pulled at my heart strings. I checked iTunes, and they call this song "Both Sides Now" and it's by Joni Mitchell on her album "Dreamland."
Excellent! THIS Buffy could love, well and wisely!

It's good to have you back!
What is this comic of which you speak? I know nothing of any damn comic.

Don't get me started on how many characters he mangled/neglected in Season 7 for the sake of introducing Sprogwarts of Sunnydale.

And ... hey! You're here!
Haven't seen you for ages!
Comics? Pffft! We will speak of them no more!
Love the vid!
*hugs*
