DESCRIPTION: Completely depressing and not in the least hopeful video about the final fight in ANGEL. I've been working on this thing off and on for a year, and I'm not sure I'm satisfied. My goal was to be goosebumpy, but...

Points to Ponder: Did the writers realize that it almost seemed that Angel was acting more like Angelus? Do you think he finally integrated accepted the two sides of his personality?

    Have you thought about using Rob Thomas's 'Now Comes the Night' for a video?

    That was nice, I like it a lot.

    I do think the writers were trying to integrate Angel/Angelus. I think that started back in season 2 when he goes after Darla and Dru, setting them on fire. I think being a vamp with a soul is a lot more complicated then no-soul = bad/soul = good. We get a taste in season 2 and then it's revisited again when we see Angel's demon manifest in Pylea and see how shamed he is and he deals with it more then.
    I think one might say he fully accepted the two halves of himself when he went on that little mind trip with Faith.

        Yes. I think that, like Buffy, he had a superiority complex. Who wouldn't? The one and only vampire to have a soul--this super-being fighting for good when he used to be so evil? You get to be arrogant. You get to be a martyr, cause you're GOOD even though you're in misery with the whole no-sex thing. So, yeah, facing Spike and having to have that conversation with himself. What does it mean that Angel is cursed with a soul? Does he really want it, or does he just like feeling superior. What does it mean that Spike went after his? Does it matter that Spike got a soul for a woman, when maybe he should have been getting it because it was the RIGHT thing to do? Or does it matter where you got your soul at all, so long as you have it and you're doing your best to do the right thing?

        I think it can be very confusing, Angel and Spike. Because after Spike goes mad with the soul guilt, he seems to return to a slightly quieter version of himself. There isn't a psychotic seriel killer difference between Spike and Spike. At least not the way there is with Angel/Angelus. However, watching Angel merge his dark side with his better side (watch me purposefully not say good side, cause good Angel can be really annoying)makes me think that there really isn't that much of difference between the "demon" and the man. Maybe they're actually one and the same.

          i also enjoyed your thoughts on this and have asked myself the very same questions.

          i think i read somewhere that angelus received A soul and perhaps not HIS soul

          so maybe liam and angelus were the same...but angel is someone else?

          i have no idea
          i dont get it personally

          i like to think spikes the better one as he went after his soul...yeah yeah it was for "the wrong" reasons...but i think its romantic that he fought for his soul for buffy...


          also SPIKEYLOVER....i was a tad disappointed that the whole video ended with NO DOYLE!....when i saw him at the tail end....i just had to tell you that was wonderful!

            Oh now THAT is an interesting idea. Not his own soul. OMG, that would make a really great story. Obviously, there's no canon support, but still a very intriguingh concept.

            Spike's story is more romantic. But then, he was a poet.

    Thanks for another great vid. The more I watch the more I dream about season 6. And the last glimpse of Doyle was truly heartbreaking

      I wasn't all that big on Wesley, but the changes in him were interesting.

        *Reget* is a download manager that quickly downloads big files.

        I like Wesley and I think you video gives him his due. The scene in Origin when he gets his memory back is powerful in itself, but coupled with music it works twice effectively.
